About Pumpkin & Patch

What the official store listing says about Pumpkin & Patch — quoted facts, not our opinion.

You play Patch, a one-eyed Shiba Inu dog who recently lost his family. He finds himself in the Hallowed Lands, a whimsical yet spooky world, and meets a new friend named Pumpkin, and the two set out on a journey to the Underworld in search of answers.

The listing frames the combat as primarily ranged projectile based, with a limited parry as the modern twist: it deflects projectiles back at enemies, or stuns melee attackers and heals the player. Mummies, witches, vampires and the Spider Queen are named as the opposition.

Abilities come through Pumpkin rather than a shop. Lamplight illuminates what is not visible to the naked eye, Embershot lets Patch jump higher than any dog, and Patch can learn to freeze water into icebergs he controls, with choices leading toward different possible endings.
