Pax Autocratica plays as two loops joined at the middle: a colony where citizens are assigned work and managed through policy, and roguelite first-person expeditions where you fight beside troops you have equipped. The store text describes both but quantifies neither.
The colony loop
The State side of the game is a management loop. Citizens are assigned to mine, gather, haul, research and manufacture weapons, armour, food and supplies, and the listing frames fragile shelters growing into the machinery of the State.
How they feel about that is the variable. The store text lists fear, propaganda, surveillance, punishment and rule as a benevolent leader through comfort and prosperity as the levers, and says citizens may end up grateful, afraid, loyal or quietly rebellious until dissent becomes revolt.

The expedition and battle loop
Expeditions travel to the fractured territories of the Tyris System to gather resources, conscript new citizens and trade with wandering merchants. The listing describes the payoff as feeding the growth of the colony, so the two halves share one economy.
Combat happens in first person, with your troops beside you. The scale described in the store text runs from hostile ships to large-scale mechanised battlefields of infantry, tanks and mechs, and enemies described as Sector Overlords flood the field with bullets, lasers, missiles, drones and artillery.
| Battle element | What the store text states |
|---|---|
| Perspective | First person, roguelite runs |
| Allies | Your own troops, ordered or used as shields |
| Scale | Skirmishes up to mechanised battlefields |
| Vehicles | Infantry, tanks and mechs |
| Threats | Elites, bosses and Sector Overlords |
| Prisoners | Weakened foes can be captured and dragged back |
Cores and what changes between runs
Roguelite cores are the progression layer. The listing names three roles: weapon cores that reshape how guns handle, combination cores that create synergies between core sets, and cores that either strengthen the troops beside you or turn them into sacrificial shields.
Every run is therefore described as rebuilt around the player, the squad and the chaos they unleash. No core list, drop table, rarity tier or synergy matrix is published, and no roadmap describes how the system will grow during Early Access.

Prisoners, conversion and the regime's tools
Captured enemies are a resource in the listing, not just a score. Weakened foes can be dragged back to base, and behind prison doors resistance can be crushed through fear, indoctrination, execution or conversion.
The stated end states are specific: an enemy becomes a citizen, a warning to would-be rebels, or another tool of the regime. That is the most concrete description of consequence in the store text, and it is repeated in the game's own framing line, the State observes all.
Presentation, difficulty and what is missing
The listing tags adjustable difficulty, full controller support, custom volume controls, stereo and surround sound, save anytime, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing. It also carries a warning about flashing lights, which matters given the projectile-heavy battle descriptions.
- No build tree, policy list or research list is published.
- No difficulty tiers are named beyond the adjustable difficulty tag.
- No roadmap, season plan or Early Access completion target is published.
- No achievement list exists for this app.
The gaps are consistent with an Early Access release whose face is a store page rather than a manual. Where official material stops, this page stops with it.
Where to go next
The beginner route is on New Player Guide, the configuration facts are on Setups, and the condensed numbers are on the Cheat Sheet.
FAQ
How does the colony half play?
You assign citizens to mine, gather, haul, research and manufacture, and shape their loyalty through fear, propaganda, surveillance, punishment or comfort.
How do the battles work?
First-person roguelite battles fought beside your own troops, scaling from desperate skirmishes to mechanised war with infantry, tanks and mechs.
What are cores?
Roguelite cores collected during expeditions. Weapon cores change gun handling, combination cores create synergies, and others strengthen or expend your troops.
Can you lose a run?
The listing describes each run as a shifting war machine and describes troops as expendable shields, but publishes no failure or death rules.
Is there a published roadmap?
No. The Early Access listing carries no roadmap or content schedule.
